Early this year, Vinka became the other Ugandan artistes sign a record deal with Sony Music Africa. She ceased being a member of Swangz Avenue and will now do music business under Sony Music.
It is said that she was releasing music every month just to compile music under Swangz Avenue and this was achieved with the last song being ‘Bigambo‘. After ‘Bigambo‘, the next songs that will be released are products of Sony Music and not Vinka or even Swangz.
Speaking at Nyonyi Gardens last week during the MTN live Facebook interview, she said that Swangz will continue being part of career because they are the ones that made her the singer she is today. “I will be based in Uganda but trading with Swangz Avenue as everything is already on plan,” Vinka said. As you read this, Sony Music has already opened a new YouTube channel for Vinka named Vinka Vevo. Sony Music has previously signed rapper Keko and songstress Naava Grey.
