In 2017, Exodus’s ‘Nyinimu’ was announced the winner in the Buzz Teeniez Gospel song of the year. He went to receive the accolade together with Levixone Lucas and upon receiving it, he said that he doesn’t deserve the award because Levixone worked more than him that year.
“The song ‘Ani’ by Levixone was more popular than my ‘Niyinimu’ song. I feel Levixone has worked harder than me this year and allow me present the award for gospel song to him,” Exodus said as he handed Levixone the plaque.
This was an emotional moment and ever since that day, Levixone and Exodus have been best friends. Since then, Levixone has embarked on a journey been to see that gospel music is recognized and spread world over.
Yesterday, the ‘Chikibombe’ singer received an award at the 4th edition of the Maranatha Global Worship Music Award (MGWMA) in Kenya after emerging victor in the category of Best East African Ragga-Reggae category for his song ‘Ponya’.
“God has come to show us favor again at the Maranatha Awards for East Africa for our faithfulness to Him. Our song ‘Ponya’ took the Best East African Ragga-Reggae award. I thank God for giving me the lyrics and music, but most importantly I thank God for all of YOU for spreading this song to All Nations. Without God and You, this would not be possible. Gospel Music is FULL of Life,” he posted.
The awards are held annually with the aim of acknowledging authentic Biblical worship music and encouraging Gospel artistes to work harder. Congratulations Levixione.
