Zari shoving papers at Fabiola
On Friday evening, a new Miss Uganda was crowned at the Kampala Sheraton gardens but before she was crowned, there was a fuss between one of the judges and a co-emcee of the night.
When it was time to crown the new queen, Anita Fabiola who was the host of the night asked Brenda Nanyonjo the C.E.O of Miss Uganda who was holding the envelope with the winner’s name if she would do the honours of announcing the winner. In her words she asked, “Mama would you like to do the honours?”
However, Zari Hassan who was the chief judge thought that Fabiola was referring to her as mama and that’s when all hell broke loose.
Zari got out of order and assured Fabiola that she is a boss lady who’s not supposed to do administration work. She then thrust manila papers with names of the three finalists at Fabiola and repeatedly commanded her to hold and open them thus provoking the crowd to boo.
When Fabiola told Zari she was being disrespectful to everyone, the boss lady paused the announcement of the three finalists and went on self-defense, attracting more boos from the guests.
She only stopped her antics after being told off by Fabiola that this was not the place or for such exchanges.
Zari’s fans were left wondering how she could put up such a show in front of Miss World officials, her fellow judges, beauty queens and the crowd.
Her ex-boyfriend Robert Ogwal commonly known as Rasta Rob has, however, come out to justify Zari’s behavior and talk about the incident.

“First of all, I was surprised that she acted like that because that is not the Zari I know, she used to be a calm person but I think calling her Mama thought they had referred to her as an old woman but calling someone mama is a sign of respect so she shouldn’t have gotten angry,” Rasta Rob said in an interview with NBS TV.
He recalled that when they were together, she hated people looking down on her and she always had a short temper.
“If she goes to a restaurant and they delay to take her order or bring her food, she could easily get angry and even beat the waitress” he added. He concluded by saying that Zari is not as old as we think, she is about 45 years of age.
Rasta Rob met Zari in the mid 90’s in Jinja before they dated for a while.
