No love lost between Shadrack and Hip Hop

Shadrack Kuteesa

Music is one thing that you possibly can’t run away from and it gets worse when you know you can do something to change the way people perceive the art. Shadrack Kuteesa is popularly known for building artistes like GNL Zamba and Keko who are some of the biggest and best Hip Hop musicians Uganda has ever had.

He however turned to God and switched his attention from secular music. He sold off his tattoo parlor as well and went into a sound hiring business and also started the red sofa platform but still music somehow called him.

As you read this, Shadrack is back to square one as he has started an event that is all about new talent doing Hip Hop. He believes that many artistes in Uganda today have proved that hip-hop can be a perfect place to proclaim the message of salvation through Christ, for His glory.

This is happening for the very first time in Uganda, and the event that is labelled ‘Fuse’ is set to unveil hip hop artistes who have waved the banner of satisfaction in Christ alone through this genre of music.

The event that is happening next Friday at the Square will have artistes like Lyrical Michael, Barna, 1 Der Jr and Dj Twonjex. “Christian Hip Hop is the music which has not been given much attention compared to other genres yet artistes are very talented,” Shadrack told us as he narrated where the idea came from.
