Justine Nameere sent to prison for 6 months, husband remanded

Justine Nameere

TV personality Justine Nameere has been sent to Luzira prison for 6 months for selling a surety worth shs55million. She was sentenced along with her ex-husband known as Raymond Kagimba who will be returning to court on the 24th of this month.

It is alleged that Nameere and Kagimba sold a Mercedez Benz car which they had temporarily relinquished to guarantee repayment of a loan they acquired from Platinum credit Uganda.

On learning that the car was used to secure a loan before, the buyer reached out to his lawyer who contacted Nameere. She then agreed to refund the money in February this year. She however didn’t keep her promise and months after her failure to refund the money, she disappeared.

According to the buyer’s lawyer, they have been looking for Nameere since February and only found her in July. He further went on to explain how they managed to find her. “They had told us that she has many cases with different police stations in Kampala, so we deployed a number of people at every station leaving them with a copy of her picture. We asked them to give us a call in case they see her since we already had an arrest warrant.” The lawyer narrated.

The two were remanded from Nakawa court and will be returning on the above mentioned dates.

Justine Nameere is mostly remembered for her altercation with NTV news anchor Faridah Nakazibwe last year.
