Man impersonates being a woman for three years

Kagadi: Police in Kagadi district have arrested a 22 year old man who has been pretending to be a woman for three years. The suspect who was born in Mityana district but he grew up with his grandmother in Kichwamba sub county in Kabarole district. He was arrested in Muhorro town council where he was working as a bar maid at Muhorro Rest-house.

 

The owner of the Rest-House Mr Charles Mugisa Busigikiro tipped the police after he received a complaint from his female workers about the suspicious conduct of the suspect. He said his workers complained that the suspect was pretending to be a woman and residing in the female wing with other female workers.

 

“When I interrogated him he confessed being a man. He however had skirts and dresses for women, necklaces and shoes for ladies” Mugisa said. The worker in question reportedly lacked clear documents and the Kagadi District police commanders Mr Romeo Onek Ojara confirmed the arrest.

 

 

“We are holding him, he congested being biologically a man much as he prefers being called and treated as a woman” Ojara said. During interrogation, he reportedly told detectives that he impersonated as a woman in Kabarole district for two years and he did the same in Kagadi district for the past one year.

“He said much as he stays with women most of his time, he doesn’t get sexually attracted to them.” Ojara who interrogated the suspect said. He told police that he has a boyfriend who is dating her but they have not reached a stage of engaging in any sexual activity.

 

 

During interrogation at Muhorro police station, the suspect reportedly told police that he impersonates as a woman in order get employed in jobs meant for women. “I previously worked as a house girl in Fort portal town. The wife where I was working knew about my sex but she tolerated me. But the man didn’t know. I do all this to earn a living because I can’t manage jobs for men” he reportedly told Police detectives.

 

He told Police that he mastered mimicking women’s tone and their dressing code so as not to be detected.

Ojara said hundreds of people rushed to Kagadi police station to catch a glimpse at the suspect. “When we received him, he was putting on a skirt and a blouse. We asked him whether he needed a trouser and a shirt to dress as a man but he said he is comfortable dressing as a woman” Ojara said.

 

According to eye witnesses, he wore a wig on his head and had his nails dyed. Preliminary investigations reveal that he will be charged with impersonation. But Police is contemplating getting for his counselors who will give his guidance and support. The suspect is being held at Kagadi Police station.
