Ever since last year when the Tusker Malt Music Lounge was launched at Nexus bar in Najjera, Janzi Band has been performing at different bars in Kampala. The Music Lounge that is meant to bring band music to fans’ localities is also a platform for the band to promote their album titled ‘Eka’.  The past editions has seen the music lounge go to places like Tropix Lounge in Kyaliwajala, Gabz Lounge in Bugoloobi, DNA Lounge in Kololo and finally Autospa in Munyonyo.

The show at Autospa took place last evening (Friday) and it wrapped up the number of bars that were supposed to host the Music Lounge this year until next year when the Lounge will be announced again.

Since it was their last edition of the year, the band that is made of different instrumentalists delivered and made sure they performed and gave it their whole. They kicked off their performance at around 9pm when Pages, their vocalist took to the stage and performed cover songs of Maddox Ssematimba and some songs off their ‘Eka’ album.

Pages thrilled the fans when he performed most of the ‘lingala’ songs that moved some of the people in the crowd to get to the dancing floor. He also gave a chance and left the instruments to play without vocals. Sounds of songs like ‘Turn the Replay’ by Levixone, ‘Wasibukawa’ by Bebe Cool, ‘Remember Me’ by Radio and Weasel and ‘Tukwatagane’ among others were played as the crowd did the singing.

Ssewa Ssewa who is the founder of the Janzi band also couldn’t hold is anxiety as he feared to miss out on the last performance this year. He was seen on stage with his recently launched Janzi instrument and they played the sounds as Pages performed songs like ‘Ngaali’, ‘River Road’, ‘Omwana Wabantu’ and ‘Njabala’ among others.
