Renowned rapper Onika Tanya Maraj, commonly known as Nicki Minaj, has broken her silence after her Irish gig last night was canceled due to adverse sea weather just hours before she was set to step on stage.
The Starships hit maker, who has had three shows canceled in as many weeks, sent out a message to fans following the disappointing news on Friday night.
Nicki Minaj tweeted: “Dear Ireland, I love you.”

According to the local website The Irish Sun, the 36-year-old was forced to cancel the concert due to “adverse weather conditions” in the Irish Sea resulting in some equipment trucks failing to arrive in time.
“Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions which have affected Irish Sea sailings over the last 24 hours resulting in some equipment trucks not arriving, Nicki Minaj has been forced to cancel her concert tonight (Friday March 15, 2019),” the concert promoters said.
Following the incident, she also cancelled concerts in France and Slovakia during her Nicki WRLD Tour.
The opening night of the Nicki WRLD Tour on February 21 in Munich, Germany, went off without a hitch – but things did not go well the following night.
Thousands of fans arrived at a local stadium in Bratislava, Slovakia to see the pop superstar in action but after four hours of waiting in their seats, they learned that the gig was not going ahead.
According to local reports, both the artist and the organiser offered different explanations as to why it was axed.
Meanwhile, ticketholders for the Irish gig were told to hold onto their passes.
“Ticket holders are advised to hold onto their tickets while the artist, venue and promoters work to reschedule the date as soon as possible. Nicki Minaj apologises for any inconvenience caused to fans due to these unforeseen circumstances,” the promoter said.
