Gravity could be faking it: Incidents where musicians faked it to make it

Gravity Omutujju shows off plasters on his stomach, after he was allegedly shot

Ugandan Rapper Gravity Omutujju is nursing wounds at Rubaga Hospital after he was allegedly shot by unknown assailants in Mityana district last evening.

After the incident happened, photos of Gravity posing with a bandaged stomach were shared on social media.

Early this morning, police arrested three people in relation to the shooting.

Wamala region police spokesperson, Mr Norbert Ochom, said a guard identified as Amos Muhebwa and two other people have been detained at Kasanda Central Police Station on charges of attempted murder.

And in the latest development, Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake checked on him at Rubaga Hospital and shared that the artist was recovering steadily.

However, a section of Ugandans on social media have failed to believe all the stories that have been shared about the shoot. Some say it could be a prank to get the artist back in the news, while others have taken it to another level to do a gravity challenge with lots of memes.

Our writer Lawrence Ogwal also thinks Gravity could be playing mind games.

Here is what Ogwal wrote on his Facebook page

If Singer GRAVITTY OMUTUJJU was really shot by the Security guard then it is not that bad, and may he recover soonest.

Allow me to say that the Ugandan music Industry at some point as managed to stay relevant because of what our artists are capable of doing to get attention.

In 2016 when Kalifah Aganaga got a chance to do a song with Radio and Weasel titled Gudi Gude. Before its release, the song needed attention and at that time, Khalifah was not on good terms with Pallaso.

In 2016, Khalifah Aganaga was involved in a verbal fight with Pallaso, and the next morning he and two other people posted photos with plasters all over their faces, claiming they had been beaten

The two met at Casablanca and were involved in a verbal war. Khalifah the next morning posted a photo of plasters all over his body together with his DJ and promoter. The two acted and posed for photos to show that they were in pain after Pallaso had ‘beaten’ the hell out of them.

I met Aganaga last year and reminded him about this incidence and we both laughed about it.

In 2014, a friend of mine, a producer called me and told me to help write about him in the news that Police had arrested him for stealing a song from another producer. He actually paid a Police Patrol with officers in Makindye just to take a photo of him on it; so as to look like he was being taken to jail.

Today, Gravity Omutujju in a live video said the bullet didn’t enter his body but only brushed his stomach and the gunshot residue particles also hit his stomach and those are the two plasters we are seeing.

In 2013, Jose Chameleone converted to Islam before his concert

It is said that the Doctors at Rubaga Hospital will discharge him later today although, in the first place, he didn’t feel pain and wanted to go straight home from Kasanda last night.

In 2013, Jose Chameleone went to Kibuli Hospital and said he had become Muslim and that he had changed from Joseph Mayanja to Gaddaffi. He converted to Islam on June 26 and his Badlisisha concert happened on June 30. The Badilisha concert was successful and up to now, Chameleone has never gone back to the Mosque and he will claim he has never been Gaddaffi.

Who knows, Omutujju (terrorist0, could be working on a song titled Amasasi (gunshots). He has got all the attention, after all.
