Ugandan Musician and Songwriter Mr Sylver Kyagulanyi is among the 144 Lawyers that have been enrolled as Advocates of the High Court in Kampala today.
Kyagulanyi joined other graduates from the Law Development Centre (LDC) who managed to overcome the gruelling 9-month course and wear the famed Engule of legal education in Uganda.
And with the high rates of failure at LDC pre-entry and graduate level, he has reason to wear that smile having overcome both.
Kyagulanyi who is popular for writing Juliana Kanyomoozi’s Nabikoowa among other hit songs, has been off the music charts, and it will come as a shock to many that he is now a qualified advocate of the High Court.
In this new position, Mr Kyagulanyi will also be in a position to fight for the protection of Artists’ Copyright which was one of his key complaints whenever he was asked why Music doesn’t seem to be working for the people who create it.
At Sqoop, we say, congratulations Mr Kyagulanyi.
