Ugandan pop star Bobi Wine has emphasized the need for unity in purpose in the new year 2019 and more commitment to the struggle to build what he described as a new Uganda.
In his New Year message shared on his social media platforms, the Kyadondo East MP, real name Robert Kyagulanyi said that although 2018 was a challenging year for him and other people, it showed how much potential Ugandans have to make the country better when they are determined and united.
“At the same time, 2018 has revealed to us that the kind of forces we are up against are very dangerous, reckless and determined to keep us under the yoke of oppression by any means. What gives us hope is that those forces, however fearsome, are not insurmountable. In the end, the people of Uganda shall certainly overcome them. My wish for the new year is that as Ugandans, we shall be more united in purpose, more committed to the struggle, more courageous to confront the forces of evil, and more hopeful that we shall build a new Uganda which works for all of us,” wrote the Kyarenga singer.
Alongside the message, the singer cum politician unveiled his new song titled Tuliyambala Engule.
In the song containing political innuendos, Bobi Wine talks of how they shall wear the victor’s crown when the struggle is finally over.
The song features other local musicians like Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Irene Ntale, Nubian Lee, Ronald Mayinja, Hillary Innocent Kiyaga aka Dr Hilderman and politicians like Bugiri Municipality, MP Asuman Basalirwa, among others.
