Enid Mirembe, the dark skinned beauty that introduced Uganda to the Rolex Festival was last weekend erased from the single ladies’ club when she took Jonathan Nalebo to meet her parents in Mukono in a traditional ceremony known as Kukyala.
Mirembe, who served as Miss Tourism Busoga in 2015, is in the process of formalizing her relationship with Nalebo, Star FM’s celebrity gossip star. The baby-faced groom was formerly attached to Galaxy FM where he acquired the nick name Slay King.
The couple reportedly dated for four years until Saturday 26 January when they took the first step to becoming a legally married couple. The kukyala ceremony was actually held on Mirembe’s birthday.
Enid rocked a pale purple gomesi that she coupled with a light peach sash. She wore a flower-shaped necklace and earrings while Nalebo wore a purple coat over his white kanzu.
The excited Nalebo immediately took to social media to share pictures of their ceremony which he captioned, “Blessed: It’s closed…”
The 26-year-old bride-to-be has in the past been linked to State minister for tourism Kiwanda Ssuubi but she vehemently denied the allegations. She has also in recent interviews shared that her ideal man is a musoga (tribe mate) and showers her with flowers. Sqoop is glad that a Musoga knight in shining armor walked her way.
Meanwhile Mirembe is taking the heat from social media critics who believe that her makeup artist did not do her justice on her special day. Some even took the beef to Nalebo’s page asking him why he chose her.
Below are some of the vile comments:
Adrianna Merina: But the camera man seems to be Jonathan’s wife to be X. You can’t take such a photo. shiiii
Steven Enock Muyinda: Slay king of all the slay queen you chose that..
Mariana Ahmed: Who is older than the other?
But from Sqoop to the Nalebos: congratulations!!!
