Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake has extended sincere gratitude to State Minister for ICT Aida Nantaba, for standing by him during the times he was allegedly tortured by security forces in Arua.

When Zaake was hospitalised after the gruesome beating, during the Arua Municipality by-election in August last year, his honourable colleague Nantaba visited him at Rubaga Hospital in Kampala.

Using a headed Parliament of Uganda letter, On January 18, 2019, wrote to Nantaba, appreciating her support during his trying moment.

The letter

“Greetings to you my friend and honourable colleague, as you are aware on the 13th day of August, 2018 I fell prey to miscreants who tortured me nearly to death. It is by God’s grace that I am still among the living,” the letter we just got hold of reads in part.

The aforementioned gruesome act caused grievous bodily harm that prompted me to seek medical treatment overseas for myself which involved a process characterized by uncertainties.

I want to thank you in a special way because amidst all the challenges and uncertainties you stood by me, such benevolence is God given, thank you very much. May god prosper you and your family to do bigger things for humanity in the year, 2019,” the letter reads.

It is rumoured that the two had a special relationship, which we cannot confirm.
