But amidst all the reggae excitement, fans were worried about Bobi Wine’s nemesis Bebe Cool.
In their early years in the music industry both Bebe and Bobi proclaimed their love and admiration for Buju Banton. So you can imagine how the Wasibukawa singer felt when it is Bobi Wine that got to meet their idol first.
Patricia Ssewungu posted, “Bobi Wine met Buju Banton , Bebe Cool’s childhood idol, now Gagamel house girls go and die. Bobi Wine is addressed in Jamaica as Uganda’s next president, now Museveni’s house boys and girls go and die !! When God says yes no man can do no.”
Sula Flexible said, “Bad Bobi Wine Meets Original gagamel boss Buju Banton ohhh Kati Banange Bebe cool Awulira Obusungu (Bebe Cool must be so angry) Because Bobi wine is now Enjoying bebe cool’s dreams And fantasies.”
But in a recent interview, Bebe Cool said that his love for Buju Banton actually reduced as he now seeks to be a role model himself.
“I used to admire Buju Banton, but I have grown up. People should look up to me to inspire them,” Bebe said in an interview with The Observer.
The timing of his comments however raises questions as Bobi Wine met Buju a few days before the interview was released.
