‘God still needs Museveni in power, no one can go against his will’- First Lady

The first lady of Uganda, Janet Kataaha Museveni

First lady Janet Museveni has said President Museveni has been leading this country for the last three decades because God chose him.

Speaking during the launch of a water scheme in Ntungamo District, the first lady who doubles as the Minister for Education said it is God who puts leaders in positions of leadership.

“I have been telling people that it’s God who has enabled President Museveni to be in power for this while. Do not think it’s just the elections? God is the one who puts leaders in charge of the people,” she said.

She added that as long as God still needs Museveni in power, no one can go against his will.
“If it was not for God’s will, citizens would not vote for him and the even the power of the election cannot sustain him in power. When God has a purpose for you, he will keep you in power,” Ms Museveni said.

Museveni is the longest serving president of Uganda. He has been in power since 1962 having won four general elections.
The Kataraka Gravity flow scheme will serve two sub counties in Ruhaama County.
