WASP WAISTS: A wasp waist is every woman’s ultimate dream yet some of us do not get much results from the gym or cannot stand the waist trainers. So, how do we create an illusion of a cinched waist without much hustle, yet still looking sexy and fashionable?
Welcome to 2019 fashionistas. If you are the kind that still has new year resolutions each year, then walking around looking cinched each time should be your fashion resolution. We are going to give Mrs West a run for her money, with just a few styling tricks and adjustments. Tricks that will give you waist-like goals all year round.
The magical wrap dress
Whether you are petite or plus size, the wrap dress will always work like magic for you if you are to attain this look. The strategically placed wrap detail will slim out your midriff, making it appear smaller than it actually is. Whether you choose to go for the full length maxi wrap dress or a midi length one, you will have that cinched look and turning lots of heads once you step out.
Opt for high waist pieces
A well balanced and cinched waist line not only gives you a great link overall, but is also the perfect way to draw attention to your look. So whether it is your jeans, skirts or even tights, keep them above your waist line. This will help articulate your curves and even give you the illusion of an hour glass figure. With this look, it would be ideal to keep your top well fitted or even tucked in.
Avoid bulky clothing
Because of how chilly it may be, you may be forced to add a sweater or cardigan to your look. This is obviously going to give you a rounder waist line and make your look bulky. Instead, have the sweater or whichever piece you are layering your look with as fitted as possible. If you are wearing it over a pair of jeans, for instance, the hem of your sweater should not go more than three inches past your jeans waist line.
Invest in a good waist belt
Possibly the oldest trick in the book is the use of the waist belt to cinch your midriff in. The bulky and more elaborate belt will work best in the case. In order to pull this look off like a pro, select your belt to suit the look you are going for. If you are wearing if to the office, wear it in a subtle shade such as black, navy or burgundy. And the best part is you can have this belt on with practically anything. Tips, dresses, and even oversized sweaters.
Side panel detailing
Nothing pulls off a slimmer waist like a good panel detailing, preferably the side ones. This can be worn on dresses, with the panels in a darker shade, from the rest of the dress. This look can be worn practically anywhere, depending on how detailed your dress is. The darker side panels are what will give you the illusion of the slimmer midriff, giving you a great cinched look.
Happy New Year!
