She might be out of office now but the former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) executive director (ED) Jennifer Musisi has ensured that she walks out with a bang. First was the unusually tight-fiting gomesi (though some are calling it a half gomesi), then the sign-out video.
Now Ms Musisi has renamed the KCCA ED handle into her names Jennifer S Musisi, taking all the followers that once belonged to the KCCA handle.
However, tweeps are not impressed by this move since it was assumed that the social media handle belonged to whoever was in the position. This meant that even though Musisi was no longer the ED, the account had to stay in its first names and used by whoever assumes that office.
The account taken over by Ms Musisi had over 165, 000 followers.
Here are some of the tweets questioning Musisi’s move:
Jennifer Musisi has just pulled a Kayihura (oba it is a Cynthia) on that KCCAED handle.

Looks like she has retired with the previous KCCA ED account and renamed it Jennifer Musisi. Out of the over 160k followers, some were following the KCCA ED and not the individual.

Will the new @KCCAUG ED start with 3k followers? Official handle seems to have transitioned to @JenniferMusisi – complete with 165k followers. Kayihura did the same with IGP account.
Ultimately, leaders are a reflection of their society. pic.twitter.com/IZbILOt3B3

Senior Counsel @KiryowaKk when should someone seperate personality from office, in this case @JenniferMusisi did not handover the @KCCAUG executive directors tweeter account. Kindly advise https://t.co/aJkB7pvMTK

I think you yapping nonsense. In all aspects and forms @Ugaman01 is so right. Government institutional social media accounts need to be respected. KCCAED account is fake despite it being opened in 2011.only 1 tweet.

Changing the @KCCAED Twitter Account to @JenniferMusisi is criminal and I intend to move this point to @Parliament_Ug to sensitize institutions that public official social media accounts are not personal property.
Ndugu @PeterKaujju and the entire @KCCAUG team, this is wrong! pic.twitter.com/69N9Phv9Wf— The President ?????? (@Ugaman01) December 15, 2018
No my dear, that’s not how public offices are run and mind you public data protection is at risk if its turned into personal use. I know there is a gap in NITA’s policy on social media which they need to streamline.

That’s OK but they needed to indicate that the former verified KCCAED handle was a personal page not the official ED office page.
