Celebrated comedian Kenneth Kimuli aka Pablo scooped two prestigious awards at the recently concluded CEO Global Pan African Awards held at Protea Marriot Hotel in Kampala last Saturday.
The comedian was awarded the country winner and overall Regional winner in the Great Lakes region in the Arts and Media category.
The awards are the leading Pan African recognition programme, honouring excellence in the private and public sector. The programme covers 23 economic sectors and has for close to two decades independently recognised those leaders who are at the pinnacle of the industry.
Nominees undergo a rigorous multi-tiered judging process. Independent auditors throughout the judging provide quality assurance and the highest possible standard is maintained.
The mission of the awards is to identify and recognise Africa’s most influential male and female leaders.
Candidates are nominated in an open process, with no professional body affiliation required.
Broadly speaking the judges look for candidates who have made an impact on the profitability/sustainability of their organisation or that of their employer; played a leading role in the development of their sector; willingly developed those around them and invested of themselves in the uplifting of communities. During the course of 2018, just fewer than 4000 nominations across the various sectors were received from across the continent for the 2018 awards.
All regional winners qualify as contenders for the Continental award in their sphere of influence. The colourful Continental Award giving ceremony will be held in South Africa on 26th November 2018.
Continental winners will also be afforded the opportunity to join the “Network of Influence”, which will give them access to developmental tools, investment opportunities and serves as a platform to bring together small and medium enterprises with corporates and the public sector.
