As Ugandans commemorate 56 years of Independence from the British rule, celebrated socialite and businesswoman, Zarinah Hassan, commonly known as Zari Hassan has become the latest victim of attack by Ugandan netizens.
Like most Ugandans, the newly appointed tourism ambassador woke up on Tuesday morning and tweeted “Happy independence my beloved UGANDA.”
The text was good but the photo attached to it was what some netizens found ‘offensive’.

The boss lady as she prefers to call her self-attached a photo of President Museveni who has been in power since 1986.
President Museveni is the chief guest at the ongoing Independence Day national celebrations at Kasasa grounds in Kyotera Town Council, Kyotera District.
Most of Zari’s followers and other social media users questioned whether Zari cannot tell the difference between Uganda and President Museveni.
Others reminded her that the day is about all Ugandans and not president Museveni alone.
“This is our newest tourism ambassador, she can’t differentiate between Uganda and Museveni,” tweeted @andsjeff.
Another tweep, Musa Kalem said “In other words Uganda and Ugandans have been summed up into one pic (of Museveni) above.”
