Namboole will not host Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga concert- Management

Bobi Wine

Mandela National Stadium, Namboole management have for a second time declined to host Bobi Wine’s much anticipated Kyarenga concert.

The concert which was meant to happen today (October 20) had been rescheduled for November 9th.

However, without beating about the bush, this time, the stadium’s management says the venue is under a red flag for the fourth coming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

“We regret to inform you that the stadium shall not able bale to host your event as tentatively booked. You are therefore advised to look for an alternative,” the letter signed by Namboole’s Managing Director Mr Jamil Ssewanyana Mpagi reads.

In the letter dated October 19, Mr Sewanyana says the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is keenly observing the condition of the stadium, as a key competition factor for the fourth coming AFCON Cameroon-2019 qualifier football match.

“Should the event be hosted, the stadium will be put into unacceptable standard that may result into CAF docking off points from Uganda Cranes and hence failure to qualify for the AFCON 2019 finals, as well as being banned from hosting international football,” he says.

Earlier this week, the Uganda Police Force asked Bobi Wine to call of his concert, on grounds that Namboole Management were not aware of the Kyadondo East MP’s music show.

This was just a day after the pop star expressed frustration over the failure by Uganda police to openly declare his planned music concert at Namboole National stadium legal or illegal.

Bobi Wine said the leadership of Uganda police seems to be bent on frustrating his much anticipated concert by giving vague opinions and positions to his team.
