Kanye West’s much hyped visit to Uganda has not gone without a black spot from his followers.
Barely a day after flying back to the US, some social media users are up in arms criticising the internationally acclaimed rapper and his wife, reality TV star Kim Kardahian over their charitable gesture in the East African country.
In their defence, West’s publicist Julz Goddard has also taken to Twitter to throw jibes at all those that scorned the rapper for donating Yeezy sneakers and ‘beats by dre’ speakers to orphans.
Before leaving Uganda yesterday, the rapper and his wife visited Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) Children’s home in Masulita, Wakiso District and donated sneakers and loud speakers, among other things, which we do not know yet.
Considering the loud speakers and sneakers are the only things that were showed in the media as Kanye’s gifts to the orphans at the home, many internet users have condemned him for taking advantage of the children.

“You needed a photo op to tell you to be charitable to children? You should be embarrassed. What did he do besides hand out Yeezys?” Shamira, a tweep under the handle @_ShamGod said.
However, Julz Goddard (@yesjulz), a Kanye West publicist has condemned all those that poured cold water on the rapper’s contribution, calling them perpetrators of hate.
“If you guys think for one second that Kim & Ye & their teams would be dense enough to visit an orphanage in Uganda and where their only contribution would be Yeezy’s, you are stuck in the matrix of hate & none of my facts or truth can help you,” part of her thread of tweets reads.
“In the live stream there is a whole convo about what’s being built and contributed. Y’all got something I like to call ‘hate oriented selective hearing’ Carry on.”
Ye, his family and team left the country yesterday, after vacationing for five days at Chobe Safaris Lodge in Murchison falls national park.
