Uganda has registered all kinds of festivals from the Rolex Festival, Muchomo Festival, Beer Festival and Pork Festival among others. When you thought that was all for festivals, make way for the first ever cultural food festival dubbed Ekyooto.

We chose to call it cultural food festival because unlike the Tokosa food festival, Ekyooto will be mostly about cultural foods (local dishes) from different regions in Uganda.

Ekyooto Food Festival is going to take place for the first time in Uganda from next week on Friday to Sunday. It will be one of the few festivals to happen three days consecutively at the Uganda Museum joining festivals like the Nyege Nyege and Bayimba.

According to the organisers, the festival will have many activities ranging from poetry, Fashion, showcase of local and international cuisines, cultural performances and art exhibitions among others.

According to Betty Aliba, the organizer, revelers will have a chance each to come and prepare their local dishes from wherever they come from. Besides that, different restaurants, local and international will sell food at discounted prices.
