Julius Kyazze who has been the chairman of the Uganda Musicians Association has stepped down from that position starting October 1 this year.
It’s not even a year since he assumed that position but he says personal issues made him take that decision.
“Today I stepped down as Chairman of The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) effective 1st October.” Julius said. “Offering leadership to some of Uganda’s most talented men and women will forever be one of my fondest experiences. Unfortunately personal commitments have robbed me of time to serve the association to the best of my ability.”
Julius who is also one of the owners of Swangz Avenue and Buzz events said he left the association in solid hands and will stay an active proud member.
Ever since the association was formed, several people in the music industry have not been in support of it saying that it was just formed to separate the industry rather than unite it.
Captain Mike Mukula was elected patron of the association in April. Other members of the executive committee include singers Ykee Benda, Eddy Kenzo and Haruna Mubiru.
