Ugandan Journalists have become predictable every time they are given a chance to ask International acts questions when they come to perform in Uganda. Most of them say they know some of the top artistes like Chameleone, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool perhaps because they have performed abroad. Others have frankly said they don’t know any artiste in Uganda.
The same happened today during a Press Conference held at Mestil Hotel and Apartments in Nsambya when a journalist asked Jamaican Singer Tarrus Riley which artiste he knows or any he has ever heard about in Uganda. As people laughed in a sarcastic way after hearing the same monotonous question, the singer was okay to answer it as he told those laughing to relax.
“To be honest I don’t know any Ugandan artistes and what I know in Uganda is the Nile, and Tshaka Mayanja is to be blame if he doesn’t take me there” Tarrus Riley said.
A few hours to the show, Daily Monitor Journalist Abdul Wasike posted on his Facebook page and told Journalists not to ask some questions in which one of the questions he listed was the one of “Which Ugandan artistes do you know.”
Tarrus Riley touched down in Uganda yesterday at 1:20pm aboard Qatar airways. The Jamaican American reggae star will headline the Bell Jams Swangz Avenue All Star concert slated for this Friday at Cricket Oval in Lugogo.
The local singers that will perform alongside Tarrus Riley include The concert organized by Swangz Avenue, a music platform and sponsored by Bell Lager under their Bell Jams music outfit will have other artistes such as Bebe Cool, Sheebah, Apass, Beenie Gunter, Fik Fameica, Vinka and Winnie Nwagi among others.
