“It is Croatia against the African Union,” was a popular tweet making rounds just before the final World Cup game that was played yesterday at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
Indeed many Ugandans and Africans were supporting France to beat Croatia since the French team was considered closer to home with five of its players having African ancestry.
However, tables have turned since France’s 4:2 victory against Croatia as big sections of not only Africa but the entire world are trolling the new World Cup champions for hiring ‘African mercenaries’ where their own country men could not perform the task.
