Bobi Wine asks bloggers to rally behind Ashburg Kato

Member of Parliament/singer Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has asked bloggers to stand with their colleague Kato Ashiraf aka Ashburg Kato who is currently remanded at Luzira Prison.

Kato, who is the founder of an online television station known as Ghetto TV,  was accused of broadcasting pornographic pictures contrary to Section 13(1) and (2) of the Anti-Pornographic Act, 2014 even though earlier reports indicated that he was arrested over defamation of socialite Bryan White.

“Many friends have been asking me about the arrest and detention of my friend and renown blogger Ashburg Kato. Yes Ashburg was arrested and incarcerated on some flimsy charges retaled to his work on Ghetto TV. Although police is trying to project his detention as based on criminial defamation and publication of pornography…” Bobi Wine’s post reads in part.

The Kyadondo East Member of Paliament, who visited Kato at Katwe police station on July 3, also said that he would be addressing the country today on Kato’s issue.

Bobi Wine has, however, since deleted the post as it currently not on his timeline. Fortunately Sqoop took a screenshot before. We wonder why the post was pulled down though.
