Non-Muslims praying for Eid to fall on a weekday

Like Ramadan, Eid is based on moon sighting, and so it is unpredictable.

With less than a week left to d-day, which is of course not yet known, non-Muslims on social media are more anxious than the Muslims in Ramadan.

According to Google, Eid al-Fitr 2018 in Uganda will begin in the evening of Thursday June 14th and End on the evening on Friday June 15th.

However, it is also possible that the moon could be sighted the following day, pushing Eid to a Saturday.

Making it a third public holiday in the month of June, falling on a weekend.

Last year, Eid al-Fitr fell on a Sunday, and unlike some countries, where people are given a compensatory day, after a public holiday falls on a weekend, Ugandans do not have that luxury. Reason they are praying the moon is sighted on a week day this time round.
