Ginkeese singer Qute Kaye is being held at Nateete Police station for stealing for a car.
Deputy Police spokesperson says Kaye was rescued from a mob of food vendors who wanted to lynch him at Busega.
The news of his arrest was broken on social media (Facebook) by NTV’s Omuntu Wawansi presenter Andrew Kyamagero.
In his post, Kyamagero said; “Cute Kaye nabbed in Busega nga abba headlights from a car. This is soo sad. What became of Robert Kayanja Ministries offer? Oba kyali kiwanni? It hurts when a former star grasses to this level Bambi.”
The singer is said to have given his life to Jesus, in February last year, during 77 Days of Glory, a programme by the Kayanja Ministries. He however disappeared from the scene after that, only to resurface this morning.
Kaye broke onto the music scene in 2007, with his first album Ginkese, which took the airwaves and nightclubs by storm.
He is billed to songs such as Ginkese, Gwendota, Njagala Omuwala, Osindise Asitamye featuring Iryn Namubiru, and Gyetwasokela with Priscilla Kalibala, among other songs.
