Socialite Brian Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White, is likely to spend the weekend in custody after police denied him bond for shooting his neighbor.
Kampala metropolitan acting police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, said police shall not release Brian White until Mr Victor Bitwire, whom he shot on Wednesday regains consciousness and explains to police what transpired in the wee hours of the fateful day.
Socialite arrested for shooting a man
Buziga police arrested and detained White for shooting Bitwire – who is currently admitted at International Hospital Kampala – and assaulting a UPDF soldier outside his house in Munyonyo, a Kampala suburb.
“We cannot release him now because his victim hasn’t regained his consciousness to tell his story. Bryan denies shooting him although he has been pinned by witnesses,” Mr Owoyesigyire said.
Police refuted reports that Bryan White’s bodyguards had been arrested saying they have no reason to do so since they recovered the gun he used to commit the crime.
