American rapper Jay Z has finally admitted that he cheated on his wife Beyonce which almost ended their eight-year marriage.
The rapper revealed more about his infidelity and the emotions it came with during an interview with The New York Times yesterday.
The couple had given clues about the infidelity in their latest music. It was suspected that Beyonce’s famous break up song ‘Lemonade’ was written after Jay Z had been unfaithful while the rapper also hinted that he had cheated on his song, 4:44. The couple, however, had never however neither denied nor confirm the suspicions.

The Hip Hop legend, 47, said that he had not only been unfaithful to his wife, 36, but that therapy kept them from getting divorced.
He revealed that it was scars from his past that caused him to shut down then push away his wife, and that led to the cheating.
‘You have to survive. So you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode, what happens? You shut down all emotions. So, even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can’t connect. … In my case, like, it’s deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity,’ he said.

He has never named the woman he cheated with but Beyonce has referred to her as ‘Becky with the good hair’ in her Lemonade song.
According to Jay Z, his wife was crushed by his infidelity which also affected him.
‘The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself’ he says.
He however says that they have gone through therapy, worked out their differences and are now stronger than ever. The couple is blessed with three children.
