When Singer Zanie Brown released a song titled Yafuuka Muyaaye, it received overwhelming airplay and the reception on the side of the fans was not bad. The song gave Zanie Brown an idea to headline a concert and recently, she announced that she would go to Theatre Labonita for a concert after five years in the music industry.

Zanie Brown in concert!! Many wondered and thought of what the singer could offer because she didn’t have more than 10 songs. The doubt was long until last evening at Theatre Labonita in Kampala.

By 8pm, Theatre Labonita had been filled to the brim, tickets were sold out but what to do? Revelers were told to squeeze in the 700 seater theatre forcing management to fix in plastic chairs.

Performances kicked off with Singers like Naira Ali, Maureen Nantume and Evelyn Lagu but the show was given much hype by Singer David Lutalo who did songs like Onsanula, Wololo and Kwasa. Lutalo knows his crowd; he connected well with them getting off the stage to go and dance with them in the VIP and ordinary section.

More hype was created when Pastor Wilson Bugembe came on stage unannounced. Even before Lutalo left the microphone, Bugembe was already working out the crowd.  He summed up his performance with a prayer.

Towards 10pm, all lights were switched off and Theatre Labonita went black. A group of people walking slowly each holding a candle came on stage, Zanix Band was playing instruments at a slow pace and it caught all by surprise. It was the way Zanie Brown was ushered on stage. She emerged back stage standing beside the people holding the candles kicking off her performance with Nsokayo, a gospel song she released last year.

Dressed in a pink jumpsuit, the singer continued her performance amid ululations with songs like Gyemukweka, Okwagal akwagala, Whatever, Mponye, Sijja Kulya Mukyalo and Omputaputa among others.

Zanie Brown left stage for singer Hilderman as she went to have a breather. Hilderman even though he is not a regular artiste proved he still got it. He performed songs like Omwaka Guno, Koona and Ontuuka featuring Carol Nantongo before he left stage.

Zanie Brown came back on stage dressed in an army green outfit with only one sleeve and the other side sleeveless. She kicked off her performance with Driven Away, her stage presence was well planned as she connected well with the dancers and the band. She then continued with songs like Friendly Match before the show ended at 11:30Pm.

Zanie Brown will tonight be at Freedom City for an extra concert before she moved to Georgina Gardens in Kisubi. All shows were bought and are being handles by Balaama Barugahare of Balaam Marketing agency.
