When Cindy left Blu *3 in 2009, many thought she wouldn’t thrive. One of her first singles as a solo artiste was Nawewe, an RnB track which we can say didn’t help dispel the nay-sayers. This, maybe was because she was still living in the shadows of her former self.
Then along came Áyokyayokya which turned her career around. Cindy got the confidence, the zeal and anticipation to conquer the music industry.
She released hit after hit and sooner became more successful than the rest of her former group members.
She now believes she can take on another challenge. A challenge in movies.
The Still Standing musician has featured in a new movie titled Bella in which she’s the lead actress and going by the trailer, she’s as good in acting as she is in music.
In the movie that is premiering this Sunday at Kampala Serena Hotel, Cindy acts as a mad woman who is blessed with a beautiful voice. She’s considered an outcast everywhere she goes and to console herself, she resorts to singing. This is when she is spotted and the rest follows.
She joins Hellen Lukoma, Ella and Mariam Ndagire who have featured in quite a number of movies, Sheeba who had a cameo appearance in Queen of Katwe and Juliana as some of the female musicians also in acting.
