At this rate, it now seems like politics is the ultimate Plan B for most entertainers. After Judith Babirye and Kato Lubwama were elected to Parliament, we thought they were done, but then came Bobi Wine. Then we learnt of other intentions from Patriko Mujuuka, Navio and Ronald Mayinja to stand for their respective districts but we never expected Amooti Omubalanguzi, real name Allan Mujuni, to bear such dreams.
And no, this was not from his comedy stints. The Amarula Family proprietor, while appearing on one of the local radio stations, said he would be contesting for the Nansana MP seat. To prove his point, he has kicked off campaigns during his latest performances.
If all goes well for the comedian, then he would have joined Kato Lubwama as the second comedian to join Parliament.
