Yes, Sauti ya Africa sounds like some foreign music group, but no it is made of four Uganda guys; Francis Mutesasira, Ben Katumba, Charles Awany and George Semaganda. And although the group is not much appreciated at home, their talents seem to have caught eyes beyond boarders. What we heart is that the quartet will be performing in Germany next month during the International African Festival in Berlin, Germany.
Sauti Ya Africa was singled out to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (Chogm) and a few years ago, they were the main acts at the exclusive Guildhall in London, whose audience included former US president Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, IMF chief Christine Lagarde and former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo.
