Chester Bennington, who was the lead singer of a music group Linkin Park committed suicide yesterday aged 41.
It is reported that the musician hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County, and his body was discovered at 9am.
The musician is survived six children from two different women. Before his passing, it was reported that he had been struggling with drug and alcohol abuse for some years. Chester’s suicide is also believed to be related to the fact that he was abused as a child by an older male after he openly spoke about the attempt.
One of his closest friends Chris Cornell also committed suicide in May and that is also believed to be another reason.
Linkin Park has had a string of hits over the years, including “Encore” with Jay Z, “Faint,” “In the End” and “Crawling” among others with their album, “Meteora,” being one of the biggest alternative albums in music history.
