It is not every day that you get to see employees being offered new roles but instead opt to pave way for new blood. Such was the case last week when Silk Events PR and marketing manger Moses Opolot finally called it time up after nine years with the events company. News we have is that Opolot who joined Silk Events as the pioneer PRO in 2008 before being promoted to head of PR and marketing in 2011 following the merger of the two departments had only recently been offered a new position of general manager. The role had apparently been created so as to free the managing director and Silk Events proprietor, Elvis Sekyanzi, from active involvement in the day-to-day operations of the business. When the offer came his way, Opolot instead communicated to management about his impending decision to depart to pursue other dreams. Opolot confirmed his resignation and that indeed his last day was May 31. It is not yet clear where Opolot is headed to as he seemed reluctant to divulge details, but all the best man!
