When we visited Danz Ku mapeesa at Nsambya Hospital a day after he was beaten up, he was fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit. We were given one minute to see him and the sight was so terrifying. He had swollen eyes, a swollen throat but most of all he was in a coma.
We were not supposed to get any comment from any staff but we later learnt that every night a patient spends in the ICU, shs500,000 is charged without medication. He also had a successful operation a few days ago which also needs more money. We wondered where all the money would be coming from for his treatment but today, Jahlive, the production house he works for has come out and called the public to fund raise for Danz Ku mapeesa.
“The entire jahlive family together with the music fraternity would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has positively contributed to the treatment of Danz ku mapeesa. He underwent a successful operation and is responding to the doctor’s medication,” part of the statement read.
They also added that due to the prevailing circumstances, they humbly request anyone with financial support to send it to 0783220197 registered in the names of Asha Kaaja.
Not to worry about the money, Jahlive has decided to organize a committee of credible people to account for the money sent from the public.
Danz Ku Mapeesa birth names Daniel Mukisa is the producer behind songs like ‘Mbozi za malwa’, Magic and Musawo among others. He was beaten up a week ago by unknown people while heading home from work.
