Bobi Wine the Ghetto president has already voted in the on-going by-elections for MP for Kyaddondo East. The singer was at the polling station early in the morning with his wife, Barbie and voted at around 8.30am. The couple stood in the line and kept talking to each other, smiling and looking calm.
Currently, there is a big population already celebrating and saying that Kyagulanyi has won but voting is still going on as many people have turned up and the Electoral Commission officials seem overwhelmed by the numbers.
After he voted, Bobi Wine sounded confident and victorious but asked the people around to remain calm: “I have cast my vote, a vote of victory, I voted for Kyagulanyi. I urge you to be calm, be peaceful but watch over the vote until the end, don’t provoke anybody,” he said.
Meanwhile at Seeta Balagadde, Magere where over 4,600 people vote from, youth loyal to Bobi have pitched camp at the polling stations to ensure nobody cheats. Even though the police have tried to chase them, they have refused to go away and have camped at the roadside watching the ballot boxes from a distance.
