Hundreds of people graced the third edition of the Bakiga Nation at Hilltop gardens in Naguru, Kampala, last Saturday. Tagged under the theme Rukundo Egumeho (let love reign), the gathering is aimed at promoting and celebrating the Kiga cultural heritage through arts, games, sale of merchandise and charity.
The event had a number of activities like dancing, children play area and singing competitions among others.
Vendors also used this opportunity to sell different types of food to revellers and among the drinks sold at the event include Bushera, local brew enturire and the famous very tasty “karechera sumbis”.
The event under the theme ‘Uganda for Bunyonyi kids’ also acted as a charity drive aimed at fundraising for the life jackets and mechanized boats for young school going children in the Kiga region who face a problem of crossing lake Bunyonyi to go to school.
