Wiz Kid this morning sent out a tweet promising two free shows in Uganda to make up for not showing up the last time round.
Wiz Kid is having the time of his life, if his latest accolades are proof to go by. He has done collabos with Drake and Chris Brown, is one of Africa’s number one artistes, currently holds the Artiste Of The Year award at the 2016 MAMAs, Best African Act at the 2016 MOBOs and Best Africa Act at the 2016 MTV EMAs. So it looks like he might want to pay back in kind. You will remember that when he was slated to have a show in Uganda last year, the excitement was palpable. Edwin Nsubuga, the Marketing Manager Star Times revealed that Star Times had booked the Nigerian to perform in a mega concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval on December 3rd 2016 as a way of celebrating their sixth birthday.
And then Wiz Kid did not show up. He and his manager, were sued by FACE TV for missing a concert. There were also reports of an arrest warrant issued for the two. Later, news trickled in that they were in talks to hold a rescheduled concert.
Ugandans as expected went on a rant with some even calling for a boycott of his music. Wiz Kid did apologise for missing the show and promised to hold a show in Uganda in the future. So maybe he is living up to his word.
Wiz Kid, this time you better show up for real bro.
