Dwayne Johnson alias The Rock might just be considering running for president in the 2020 US presidential elections. We have learnt.
Da Rock who is currently the highest paid movie star is getting serious about a possible desire to run for the top office according to most websites in the US.
“I think that it’s a real possibility,” confessed the Rock. “A year ago, it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think “Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.'”
The 45-year-old actor, who did not publicly endorse any candidate in 2016 completely, disagrees with president Trump’s controversial travel ban saying that he doesn’t believe in the ban of immigrants.
“I believe in our national security to the core, but I don’t believe in a ‘ban’ that bans immigrants. I believe in inclusion. Our country was built on that, and it continues to be made strong by that.”
This, among other reasons might have forced him to make this decision of standing for presidency. However, if he goes ahead to make this decision, he will have to go against Mitchell Obama who also intends to stand for the same post if what came from the US is anything to go by.
