DRESSING FOR HIGH TEA: The Fashion High Tea party is here and for you who has been wondering what to wear, here are some quick tips to guide you. It is a poolside event so whatever you do, please try and not dress formal. Keep it elegantly casual.
The Fashion High Tea party is happening this Sunday at the Kampala Serena Hotel. My excitement for the event has been coupled with endless nerves, trying to figure out what to wear to this high fashion gathering.
With the head dress on the memo, it is surely going to be an array of fashion all through the evening. So for those of you that are unsure of what to wear to an event like this one, here is a simple guide to follow up on.
A jumpsuit
Depending on your cut choice and detail, a jumpsuit can be a great option. You can spice it up with cut out sleeves, a head wrap, and playful clutch. And since it is high fashion, think wide-legged for the pants of your jumpsuit.
Colourful maxi
A dress is always a wise choice. However, since it cannot just be any dress, then you may want to stick with the maxi. However, let it have some definition to it. You can have it belted at the waist, and possibly add some funky jewellery to make the look fun, and not too imposing. You can finish this off with a turban or fascinator. You can keep it printed, or bedazzled.
The tulle skirt
Your look to a high tea party should be two things; classy and fun. And that is why the tulle skirt could do you some good. Pair this with a stunning top and great shoes. Of course do not forget your other accessories, for example a cute purse and a matching face beat. A less elaborate fascinator and lace gloves will complete the look perfectly.
For the men
This is the perfect opportunity to rock your broken suit. Complete this with a pair of brogues or loafers. The ties are not compulsory, so you may need to select your shirt carefully. When it comes to the blazers, the double breasted jacket is the recommended choice.
