Irene Ntale attacks haters in new song

When Irene Ntale left Swangz Avenue two weeks ago, no one knew why she had left because both Ntale and her management were tight-lipped about the reasons they parted ways. Last evening when she released a song titled Twelageko, some started to think she was hitting at Swangz Avenue. Twelageko can be translated to mean “showing each other” perhaps in the manner of who is better.

A close listen to the song shows that the singer is directly attacking someone. Many were quick to direct the attack to – you guessed right – Swangz Avenue.

In the lyrics, she accuses her friends of backstabbing her and also putting in more effort to see that she doesn’t triumph in life. She then says she sometimes wants to give up and remembers there are people she has to prove wrong.

During an interview this morning with a local radio station, Ntale was grilled by the show presenters who said she was attacking Swangz Avenue in the song but she denied it.

“I didn’t leave Swangz Avenue in bad faith, we peacefully parted ways and it is more reason I can’t attack them in the song,” Ntale said. She added: “The song Twelagekois dedicated to all those people out there who don’t want to see others progress in life but you always have to fight hard to prove them wrong.”

The song which is dancehall – not the usual genre Irene sings – was produced at Eno Beats in Makindye by producer Eno.
