Dennis Rackla laid to rest

Dennis Rackla’s body was laid to rest yesterday at his grandfather’s home in Kayunga, Wakiso District at a village called Busukuuma in Namulonge with hundreds in attendance to pay their last respects to the fallen musician.

Some of the prominent people who attended included Halima Namakula, Iryn Namubiru and Hajji Ashraf Ssemwogere. Surprisingly, most artistes the deceased wrote songs for,  such as Juliana Kanyomozi (Tombowa Mukwano), Priscilla Kalibala (Tokyuse Mwami) and Desire Luzinda (Mubiite) didn’t make it for the burial.

There was a lot of grief at the funeral. “He was a great man and a great artiste. I know how his people must be feeling right now. It hurts so much to lose a child,” Ssemwogere said while shedding tears.

Meanwhile Dennis’ girlfriend, Santana Mutoni narrated that Dennis called her to the farm on the fateful day. She said everything went as planned but on their way back, they collided with another car and it was only him who died among the four people in the car.

Prior to the burial, a vigil was held at the deceased’s home in Nansana where mourners including Ziza Bafana, Kato Lubwama, Evelyn Lagu, Dr Hilderman and David Lutalo attended.
