It is at this time of the year that you will see different kinds of “coloured” theme night parties in the different classy bars of Kampala. These parties are usually organised by Ugandans living and working abroad. These parties tend to have different theme colours that the revellers are supposed to dress in. These include the Zari AllWhite party (although it didn’t happen this year), the Green Swag Party, All Black Party, Black and Gold party and the Black and Red Party.

The last party of the year took place on Monday and like all the others, it was a coloured theme party. The White and Gold Party hosted by Williams Bugeme also known as Boss Mutoto took place at Club Guvnor in Industrial area on Boxing Day. The event which kicked off as early as 9pm had different socialites known, and unknown.

Many were dressed in either white or gold, while others chose to blend the two colours in respect of the white and gold dress code. They took to the back drop just outside the club for photo moments before they entered the club.

Boss Mutoto the host of the night made his way to the club at a few minutes past midnight. He was dressed in an all-white outfit with shoes the colour of gold. He was in the company of stylist Brian Ahumuza of the Abryanz Collections and other little known socialites. They had ushers waiting for them outside and they got out from a white limousine and headed straight to the backdrop for photo opportunities before they made their way to the club.

While in the club, only a few people were seen ordering for drinks as they thought it would be wise not to spend as they waited for the boss of the night to announce an open bar as is the culture nowadays. But they were in for a disappointment. The boss ordered for just a few people who shared a table with him.

Meanwhile at the party, many people didn’t realise what was going on outside. Winnie Nwagi who was meant to perform was exchanging words with the club bouncers who had denied her entrance because she was not on the guest list.

“I am supposed to be performing here tonight but you guys are sending me away,” a furious Nwagi was heard saying. “I cannot bend low just because I want to perform at Club Guvnor.” All this fell on deaf eyes as the mean-looking bouncers pushed her away to give way for other people who had paid the entrance fee of Shs50,000. Nwagi and her two queen dancers were rescued by management and were later seen entering the club.

Later in the night, there were performances from Maurice Kirya and Winnie Nwagi before DJ Bryan took to the decks to make people dance all night. In the club were also members of the Rich Gang who had held their party a week ago.
