It is rare for an International artiste coming to Uganda and going back without working on a song with our own local artistes. Sometimes it fails, because of this and that. We have seen Elephant Man work on a song with Peter Miles, Henry Tigan with Marlon Asher, Bobi Wine with Mampi, Chameleone with Beenie Man and the latest is Eddy Kenzo and Mi Casa, among others.
At the weekend, Nigerian singer Runtown, who is known for his hit songs Bend and Pause and Lagos to Kampala that he did with Wizkid was in the country. The Nigerian superstar, who headlined performances at the ASFAs also made a surprise performance the next day at the Buzz Leavers Rock.
While at Buzz, many local artistes were seen taking photos and exchanging contacts with Runtown, a trick they always use to drag international artistes to studio. It was surprising however that many established artistes failed to book a collabo with the Nigerian star and only Tyler Himself, a budding artiste, got lucky. Tyler Himself broke out a few years ago with a song titled Tight Up Skirt. He has been around but went off the scene to pursue his studies abroad.
According to sources, Tyler’s family, which is moneyed, invested a lot for the Nigerian singer to work with their son. Runtown, who spent three more days in the country, was also seen at a home in Zzana where he had gone to visit a Nigerian family living in Uganda.
