Reports allover social media announced that Tanzanian music legend Mr Nice had passed on after a long illness. However, close friends have revealed that he is still alive though in a critical condition.
Mr Nice, real names Lucas Mkenda was admitted at the Kahama Hospital in Shinyanga three months ago after he became seriously ill. With some reports claiming that he is suffering from typhoid.
At some point, Mr Nice was reported to be the highest paid entertainer in East Africa, charging over Ksh 400,000 for a show and this was because of hits such as ‘Kikulacho’, ‘Fagilia’, ‘Kidlipo’ and ‘rafiki’ among others.
With his style dubbed ‘Takeu style’, the musician went professional in 1999 but his career took a twist when it was alleged that he had become an alcoholic.
