To prove superiority on the music scene in Uganda, one of the things an artiste has to do is make a successful concert and prove critics wrong. After that, the artiste can stand tall and take a spot among the big names in the industry. But after having three successful concerts in three years, King Saha is right to claim that indeed his dominance is worth being noticed.
The artiste last Saturday evening had his ‘Mwana gwe’ concert at freedom city and just like last year, the venue was full which made proved his management was right to take his events from a smaller theatre Labonita where he did his first concert.
People started entering the venue at 7pm and by the time upcoming artistes started performing at 8pm, only the VIP area had a few chairs unoccupied . Artistes like; Chozen, Fefe Busi, Lydia Jazmine, Dr Hilderman and Tip Swizzy turned the tempo a bit higher at 9pm but it was Bebe Cool and Gravity Omutujju who stole the show. The two turned the crowd frenzy and chairs went up as the occupants could no longer afford to sit on them.
Aziz Azion, Nince Henry, King Michael, Omulangira Ssuna, Ragga Dee and A Pass could do little after the two had left because they couldn’t impact the crowd the same and when Saha came on stage, people waved his posters as he did songs like ‘Mulilwana’ before going ahead to do other tracks like ‘Tereza’, ‘Signal’, Bantu baffe’, Tonfako, Pretty pretty and others during his first session backed by solid band. He then left the stage for Winnie Nwagi who did ‘Kibulamu’ and ‘Musawo’ before returning for his last performance. They both did ‘science’ and ‘Gundeze’ after which Saha finished up his concert with ‘Togwamu suubi’, ‘winner’ and ‘Mwana gwe’.
