The last time you heard about Cecilia Ogwal was probably something connected to politics but her resurrection has come with a bang as the former beauty queen, has vowed to get the government involved in the annual pageant.
Cecilia Ogwal was among the guests at the just-concluded Miss Uganda pageant at Kampala Serena Hotel and according to the iron lady, government is intentionally rejecting to notice the importance of these beauty queens.
“There is no one representing the government at this event. What do the various women government organisations do if they cannot be here at this time? Where is the ministry of culture? These ladies represent the country and it is their obligation to be here,” she said.
She vowed to commission herself to be an ambassador to the government when it comes to matters to do with Miss Uganda.
“I’m going to ask them why they did not attend this function. It is not a right thing to do when you are a leader.”
Well, we only hope this was not just talk because considering the way this year’s Miss Uganda organisation went, this thing needs some serious revamp.
