It has turned out that the late launch of Miss Uganda has started to cost the organisers of the pageant. As you read this, different activities of Miss Uganda have taken place ever since this year’s edition was launched a few weeks ago.
Unlike Miss Tourism Uganda, which will close on September 30, Miss Uganda organisers have been carrying out private auditions and eliminations. Yesterday (Thursday), 22 Queens were unveiled and they will compete for the crown at the finale on October 15.
According to Martin Larry Mukoza, the publicist of the pageant, there is limited time to do all the activities in a big way because the time line given to them by Miss World is not enough.
“We have to work hand in hand with Miss World because by the time we crown Miss Uganda, she is ready to compete in Miss World, which will also happen immediately after Miss Uganda,” Mukooza said.
That aside, Mukooza said they are trying to revamp the pageant in the shortest time possible and trying to bring more people on board.
